Elizabeth Umlas is a senior advisor on capital stewardship to UNI Global Union and IndustriALL Global Union. Before becoming an independent researcher and consultant in 2007, Dr. Umlas spent six years as senior research analyst for human rights at KLD Research & Analytics, a leading socially responsible investment research firm in the United States. She currently teaches at several European universities, including Oxford University, the University of Fribourg, and the University of Geneva, and is a co-founder of Sustainable Finance Geneva. Dr. Umlas, who has worked for 15 years in the field of business and human rights, has a PhD in political science from Yale University.
