Githa Roelans is responsible for providing policy advice and technical support on the application of the principles of the ILO Tripartite Declaration concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy to governments, employers and workers in ILO member States. The unit also coordinates the ILO approach to corporate social responsibility (CSR), engaging directly with multinational enterprises, governments, trade unions as well as with other international organizations on the impact of business – through its operations and investment decisions – on decent work. Specific emphasis is put on the business contribution to achieving the Decent Work related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Githa Roelans joined the ILO in 2007. Previously she worked in the UNIDO Beijing Office (China), and held senior advisory positions in global consultancies in Brussels (Belgium). Ms. Roelans is a Belgian national and graduate of the University of Leuven, where she subsequently held research and management posts.
